Aqua-Pro Reef Aquariums

The Aqua-Pro Reef aquarium range has been professionally designed for today’s reef-keepers. These systems are suitable for beginners right through to those at the cutting edge of the hobby and combines practicality with a modern premium finish. The design allows for marine hobbyists to choose and add their own equipment, building a bespoke sump-based saltwater system which is tailored to their own methods, taste, experience and budget.

In addition to the traditional Aqua-Pro Reef aquariums that are designed to be viewed from the front and sides the peninsula range provides an option for a wider aquarium that can be used as a room divider creating a showstopping feature in any room. With 10 colour finishes available you can find the perfect solution for your home reef.

Aqua-Pro Reef aquariums are made from ultra clear low iron glass and include a host of features as standard including a unique 'invisable' overflow weir, multi-chambered sump, top up reservoir and full pipework set.

Aqua-Pro Reef Peninsula Aquariums have a large viewing area and an impressive depth to allow space for a central aquascape and provide excellent proportions.

An internal weir box can become an unattractive focal point in any aquarium, dictating aquascaping and interrupting flow patterns inside the tank.

The D-D 'invisible' weir box has been carefully designed to minimise intrusion into the aquarium and allow a clear view from three sides.

Incorporated into the weir the twin pipe overflow system provides almost silent running whilst the use of the D-D Ultra Flow weir comb allows the maximum amount of waterflow without excessively raising the water height in the aquarium.

The Aqua-Pro Reef cabinets are manufactured and built for D-D in the U.K. to ensure a consistent high quality. With a modern sleek design, the cabinets enhance the look of the aquarium as well as being a complimentary piece of furniture for your room.

Each cabinet is delivered pre-assembled in a choice of six standard finishes and four premium gloss or matt laminate finishes. All come complete with soft close hinges that are fully adjustable and have a quick release feature. This allows the doors to be aligned in three directions and easily removed for full access into the cabinet for maintenance. To retain the clean style and contemporary looks the cabinets are fitted with push open mechanisms so no handles are needed.

With larger aquariums comes more weight so the peninsula cabinets are fitted as standard with an integrated metal frame. This is made from aircraft grade aluminium section which is cut and fastened together with special custom stainless steel brackets and high strength rivets.

The AquaFrame system allows you to future-proof your aquarium by enabling you to change the cabinet colours at any time, to match a change in decor, without buying a brand new cabinet.

Peninsula cabinets feature opening doors on one side and faux doors on the opposite to give a balanced duel aspect look. A large opening in the end of the cabinet allows for ventilation and access for pipes, cables, etc to be passed through and the open interior provides as much space as possible for equipment.

D-D have many decades of experience in designing, building and running large successful aquariums and have combined this knowledge to produce what we believe is the perfect simple sump layout for the space available. The ultra quiet twin pipe weir system is further refined by the first section of the sump, resulting in a silent water return with no splashing or gurgling.

If using the filter sock arrangement (option when ordering), the water then overflows into a filter sock section which incorporates a diffused silencer plate to reduce any water noise.

After passing through the first prefilter or equipment section water flows into a second large compartment that can be used for equipment or as a refugium. Either chamber can hold equipment such as skimmers, media reactors, calcium reactors etc. The final section is a return pump compartment which sits beside the integrated water top off reservoir.

ClariSea

As standard the D-D Reef-Pro range is supplied with a ClariSea ready sump and pipework, this allows the ClariSea units to be fitted easily with no adjustments or modifications.

The ClariSea fleece filter is an ultra compact, patented, high efficiency water filtration system, which continuously removes suspended particles such as micro algae, detritus, food, organic waste and gravel dust from the water column to improve water quality and clarity. The ClariSea design has been continuously developed and improved over a number of years, and is suitable for use in both marine and freshwater aquariums, fish-breeding and coral propagation systems.

At the time of order it is possible to specify the filter sock option, this can easily be lifted out at a later date and the ClariSea fitted without the need of tools or modifications to either sump or pipework.

Ultra Flow Weir Comb

All D-D Reef-Pro aquariums come fitted with the Ultra Flow Weir Comb to allow maximum water flow through the weir without excessively raising the water level in the aquarium. The uniquely designed arrangement of vertical and horizontal drain slots can allow 30% to 50% more water through compared to a standard vertical type weir.

The Ultraflow Weir Comb maintains a high flow at all times, allowing the use of larger return pumps, which in normal circumstances, could result in raised running levels causing excess drain down in the event of a power cut or in the worst case scenario the aquarium overflowing.

The weir comb is easily removeable for cleaning.

Flow Nozzles

The D-D Reef-Pro aquariums come complete with a 3D printed flow generator and wide outlet nozzle attachment allowing the flow coming from the sump to be directed and taylored to suit your reef.
