Find Stockist CarboPlus

CarboPlus (Nitrate & Phosphate "remover") For bacteria and other microscopic organisms to assimilate Nitrogen and Phosphorus, Carbon is required to be available in adequate amounts.

With the increased efficiency of filtration systems, low and ultra-low nutrients aquariums are becoming more and more common. These systems are often Carbon depleted. If a system is carbon depleted will mean that “biological filtration” won’t happen as efficiently as it should and nutrients like NO3 and PO4 are likely to rise and become pollutants, unless other forms of filtration are employed.

CarboPlus enhances the rate of microbial growth and reproduction and will improve biological filtration by allowing microscopic plankton and bacteria to consume Nitrate and Phosphate. These bacteria can then be exported via mechanical filtration or used as food by other organisms in our aquariums, like sponges, corals, clams, tunicates, etc.

CarboPlus is a natural source of biologically safe carbon and replaces flammable sources like ethanol or vodka.

When starting dosing CarboPlus we recommend starting with 1ml per 100l daily and increase as needed up to 3ml per 100l daily. Measure NO3 and PO4 frequently, with reliable test kits, as over time if they are present in the correct ratio (C 106:N 16:P 1) these should reduce towards the desired levels and ultimately to 0ppm (if nothing is done).
Once NO3 and PO4 reach the recommended levels reduce the dose to ensure the nutrients stay near those levels and don't drop to 0ppm (our recommended levels are NO3 ~5ppm and PO4 ~0.04ppm).

If either NO3 or PO4 tends to 0 ppm, with the other above 0 ppm, your system has likely become limited by the depleted nutrient, in such event the existing nutrient will tend either not to reduce or to increase over time. Dose NitroPlus or PhosPlus to overcome this deficiency and optimise your "biological filtration".

If you desire a system that is "heavy nutrient in and heavy nutrient out", you can continue to dose the maximum daily dose of CarboPlus, however you will likely have to dose NitroPlus and PhosPlus to ensure the correct nutrient ratio/levels.

NitroPlus

NitroPlus Nitrate is extremely important in micro fauna and coral nutrition. If present in adequate quantities will promote “biological filtration” along with coral improved colouration and health.

For bacteria and other microscopic organisms to assimilate Carbon and Phosphorus, Nitrogen is required in adequate amounts.

With the increased efficiency of filtration systems, low and ultra-low nutrients aquariums are becoming more and more common. These systems are often Nitrogen depleted. If a system is nutrient depleted will mean that “biological filtration” won’t happen as efficiently as it should and nutrients like PO4 are likely to rise and become pollutants, unless other forms of filtration are employed.

NitroPlus support microbial growth and reproduction and will improve biological filtration by allowing microscopic plankton and bacteria to consume Carbon and Phosphate. These bacteria can then be exported via mechanical filtration or used as food by other organisms in our aquariums, like sponges, corals, clams, tunicates, etc.

NitroPlus is a natural source of NO3 that can be dosed to the aquarium in a controlled manner in order to achieve ideal NO3 levels. We recommend to use Z-NitroPlus if your levels of Nitrate are below 5ppm.

Before dosing NitroPlus we recommend the use of reliable and precise Nitrate test kits to determine the levels of Nitrate in the aquarium.
10ml of NitroPlus will increase ~1ppm of NO3 in 100l of aquarium water.

Once Nitrate levels are determined, we recommend only increasing 1-2ppm of NO3 per day by dosing the required amount and waiting 24h to test NO3 levels. This procedure should be repeated until the desired levels of NO3 are achieved.

Phosphorus

PhosPlus Phosphorus is another extremely important element in micro fauna and coral nutrition. If present in adequate quantities will promote “biological filtration” along with coral improved colouration and health.

For bacteria and other microscopic organisms to assimilate Carbon and Nitrogen, Phosphorus is required in adequate amounts.
With the increased efficiency of filtration systems, low and ultra-low nutrients aquariums are becoming more and more common. These systems are often Phosphorus depleted. If a system is nutrient depleted will mean that “biological filtration” won’t happen as efficiently as it should and nutrients like NO3 are likely to rise and become pollutants, unless other forms of filtration are employed.

These bacteria can then be exported via mechanical filtration or used as food by other organisms in our aquariums, like sponges, corals, clams, tunicates, etc.

PhosPlus is a natural source of PO4 that can be dosed to the aquarium in a controlled manner in order to achieve ideal PO4 levels. We recommend to use PhosPlus to achieve PO4 levels of around 0.04 mg/l.

Before dosing PhosPlus we recommend the use of reliable and precise Phosphate test kits to determine the levels of Phosphate in the aquarium.

1ml of PhosPlus will increase ~0.01ppm of PO4 in 100l of aquarium water.

Once Phosphate levels are determined, we recommend only increasing 0.01-0.02ppm of PO4 per day by dosing the required amount and waiting 24h to test PO4 levels. This procedure should be repeated until the desired levels of PO4 are achieved.

If PO4 is dosed and after 24h both NO3 and PO4 levels don’t start dropping, your system may be carbon limited.

AminoPlus

AminoPlus is the "food element" of the Reef Zlements method, a complete method that delivers macro and trace elements along with “nutrients” and food that your corals need to thrive.

AminoPlus is a specifically designed blend of amino acids, carbohydrates and vitamins to work in synergy with Z-Complete and the Reef Zlements nutrient management line.

Our proprietary recipe has been formulated to improve coral growth, coloration and overall coral health therefore, it is likely that reefers who start using AminoPlus within the Reef Zlements method, experience an increased consumption of Alkalinity, Calcium and all other elements. It is therefore important that these parameters are closely controlled.

For better results AminoPlus should be dosed in an area of high flow and throughout the day. To facilitate its use AminoPlus can be dosed with a dosing pump and doesn’t need refrigeration.

AminoPlus recommended doses are as follows for each stocking level:

Light (Soft, LPS & SPS) - 1ml per 100l per day
Medium (Soft, LPS & SPS) - 2 ml per 100l per day
Heavy (Soft, LPS & SPS) - 4 ml per 100l per day

The above dosing recommendation is the dosing starting point and you may feel the need to adjust the dosing levels according to your reef specific needs.

During the use of the nutrient management products and Z-AminoPlus always monitor the visual appearance of your corals, the Nitrate and Phosphate in the tank water.

If you notice any brown or grey biofilm on the live rocks or the appearance of algae/cyano bacteria it is a likely sign that you are overdosing or that your nutrient levels aren’t at ideal levels.

Before making any adjustments, ensure all nutrient levels are at ideal levels.

VitaPlus

VitaPlus is the "vitality element" of the Reef Zlements method, a complete method that delivers macro and trace elements along with “nutrients” and food that your corals need to thrive.

VitaPlus is a specifically designed blend of vitamins along with a special ingredient which works in synergy with AminoPlus and the Reef Zlements 2 part solutions.

Our proprietary recipe has been formulated to improve coral growth, colouration and overall coral health therefore, it is likely that reefers who start using VitaPlus to experience improvements in colouration and health and growth of the corals.

VitaPlus recommended doses are as follows for each stocking level:

Light (Soft, LPS & SPS) – 1-2 ml per 100l per day
Medium (Soft, LPS & SPS) – 2-3 ml per 100l per day
Heavy (Soft, LPS & SPS) – 3-6 ml per 100l per day

The above dosing recommendation is the dosing maintenance dose and you may feel the need to adjust the dosing levels according to your reef specific needs depending of your nutrient levels.

We always recommend to start with a lower dose for the first 2-3 weeks to ensure nutrient levels are maintained at ideal levels.

During the use of the nutrient management products and VitaPlus always monitor the visual appearance of your corals, the Nitrate and Phosphate in the tank water.
If you notice any brown or grey biofilm on the live rocks or the appearance of algae/cyanobacteria it is a likely sign that you are overdosing.

Blizzard

Blizzard is a marine polymer that acts as a flocculant to capture both organic and inorganic pollutants in the water which are then removed by the skimmer or Clarisea filter roll, to help regulate nutrient levels.

It helps to manage the natural nutrient cycle and acids in the aquarium, leading to long term nutrient stability and higher pH.

Blizzard purifies the water by removing undesired compounds, leaving the water crystal clear. It also helps carry nutrients to the corals which will increase coral growth rates.

PhosFate

PhosFate is an extremely efficient liquid PO4 remover that works by binding to phosphate and allowing mechanical filtration like skimmers and filter rollers to remove the phosphate from the aquarium.

We recommend PhosFate to be dosed directly into the skimmer pump or skimmer neck.

PhosFate can be dosed using a dosing pump, however please dose carefully and according to the below recommendations:

Phosphate levels    per day/ 100L
0.04 - 0.25 ppm        0.1 - 1.0ml
0.26 - 1.00 ppm        1.1 - 2.5ml
1.10 - 5.0+ ppm        2.5 - 5+ml

Do not overdose. Although dosing PhosFate is very safe, overdosing PhosFate can lead to deposits of white flocculant appearing in the rock scape, corals, glass, etc. Can also lead to fish breathing difficulties as the flocculant can travel and bind to their gills.
