Deltec FR Fluidised Reactors

Hand built in Germany the Deltec FR (fluidised reactors) are a multipurpose unit for housing various chemical filter medias such as ROWAphos or carbon but can also be used for biological medias.

Lightweight media that does not need to be fluidised such as carbon can be placed in a filter bag inside the reactor or loosely trapped between sponges or filter floss.

Once established these filters are very effective and robust in their ability to remove nitrate from the water and can be operated in manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic modes with the addition of peristaltic pumps and a redox controller.

Water is fed directly down a central tube to the bottom of the reactor where it is dispersed evenly through a diffuser plate, back up through the media and out the fitting in the lid. This design allows even distribution and flow through the media, efficiently expelling any trapped air.

Simple to use and maintain the FR Reactors feature a robust twist off bayonet lid to allow easy tool free access and unions on the hosetail fittings for easy pipework removal.

The units are pressurised so can be run externally or partly submerged in a sump. A suitable feed pump not included, such as the D-D Funktion Pump range will be needed to supply water through the reactor.

Deltec’s Multi-Purpose Reactor Design

Should you need to re-purpose the reactor over time Deltec have made the components of their latest reactor ranges universal to allow for the FR Reactor to be easily converted to a PF Calcium Reactor or NFP Nitrate Reactor using additional upgrade components, available separately.
