Question:

I have just callibrated my new dosing pump and the callibration seems to be slightly out?

Answer:

When calibrating a new dosing pump or new dosing head the process may have to be repeated a few times. Sometimes on new pump heads the tube can have a slight flat spot where the rollers have been sitting leading to small inaccuracies. This will correct itself once the head had been operated a few times.

Please bear in mind that there will always be a variability when dosing very small amounts. This can be affected by pipe length, pipe positioning and pipe diameter. When dosing very small amounts a variation of 0.1-0.5ml could be down to a small air leak in a joint or a small amount of air getting into the end of the pipe just as the head stops pumping causing the odd drip from the pipe that wasn’t part of the actual dose.

With any very concentrated dosing solution we would recommend diluting the product with RO water, if possible, to lessen any chance of either accidental overdose or long term drift when dosing very small quantities.
