Question:

Can I use a FMR75 reactor in my cabinet without a sump?

Answer:

The FMR75 reactor can be used underneath the aquarium without a sump as it is a sealed unit. The feed pump will have to be placed in the aquarium.

If doing so please take the following precautions.

  • Once the elbows are in the desired position glue them in place with aquarium sealant to prevent them from being inadvertently pulled off.
  • Always lubricate the lid o-ring before tightening the lid, this will prevent the rubber puckering as it grips and potentially causing slow leaks. You can use vaseline or food grade silicone grease for this.
  • Make sure all pipework is secure.
  • Any flow taps or valves should be positioned above the aquarium or in the aquarium itself just in case the internal seal ever wears and starts to leak with age.
