Introduction

Jecod Mow Sine Wave Wifi Pumps

Introducing the Wi-Fi enabled app controllable wavemaker pumps from Jebao.

These pumps come complete with a dual interface controller allowing the settings of the pump to be adjusted directly from the control unit or remotely via the Jebao Aqua App if connected to a home router or mobile device.

Multiple wave patterns are available to choose from by using the controller or App interface. These include Classic, Sine, Random and Constant modes.

These pumps have a compact form with high flow output and a magnetic mount for positioning securely on the aquarium in almost any position. Pivot points on the bracket allow for pump angle adjustment to aim the direction of flow. The super quiet motor uses sine wave technology for reliable and quiet operation.

B Wave Frequency
This can be set between 5 (quick cycling of wave pattern) and 100 (slow cycling of wave pattern).

C Wi-Fi button
Press and hold to cycle between Smart Configuration mode and AP Configuration mode.
Tap to set the unit into Master, Slave, or Stand Alone mode

D Adjust Down Key
Press to reduce the power or frequency setting.

E Mode button
Tap to swap between the wave mode options. When in a wave mode press and hold for three seconds to adjust the wave frequency.

F Pause Button
Tap to set the device into feed mode or to take it out of feed mode and back to normal operation. Holding the button down for 2-3 seconds will switch the pump off, press and hold again to turn the pump back on.

G Up key
Press to increase the power or frequency setting.

Can be set between 30 and 100

Classic Wave Mode (Shift Wave Mode)
The pump will alternate between a minimum and maximum power level. The maximum power level and frequency that the pump switches can be set directly on the controller or in the app. Two flow options are available in the Classic Wave Mode, Pulse (“W1” on the controller) or Cross Flow (“C” on the controller). This wave mode is well suited to corals that prefer high energy wave patterns such as those found on the reef crest.

In pulse mode the pump will not completely switch off, it will quickly alternate between a set minimum operating speed and a programmable maximum power level, this can be set between 30 and 100. Rapid frequency changes are set in this mode, approximately 0.3 - 1.6 seconds.

Cross flow mode will switch the pump between being off and the user programmed maximum power, between 30 and 100. The frequency period that can be set is longer compared with Pulse Mode, 2 - 60 seconds. If linked together as Master and Slave pumps it is also possible in this mode to have two pumps operating on opposite cycles to each other, e.g. when one is on the other is off. This can allow the creation of a standing wave if the aquarium is long enough and the frequency is set correctly for the length.

Sine Wave Mode
A gentle pulsing flow pattern is created in Sine Wave Mode (“W2” on the controller). The pump will ramp up and down between two set points creating a gentle wave simulating deeper reef or calmer lagoon environments. This makes it ideal for more LPS or soft coral dominated aquariums. The maximum power that the pump reaches can be programmed between 30 and 100 on the controller or within the app. The frequency that the pump ramps between the power levels is also completely adjustable on both control platforms.

Random Wave Mode
In this mode a completely random wave pattern is created by the controller. The pump will automatically switch and pulse at different time intervals alternating its power settings through its operating range, simulating a more chaotic reef environment where the flow is constantly changing. This is also useful in preventing detritus build up in areas, as can sometimes be seen when flow patterns follow a constant repeating cycle. In this mode the frequency and power level cannot be altered.

App control

The pump is completely controllable in the App and has the option of a ‘Timer Mode’ for more complex setup or operation. This function allows different wave patterns or power levels to be set throughout a 24 hour period. Using this it is possible to set night time schedules to create calmer wave patterns, or to have a changing in conditions through the day for a more natural environment. Increases in flow rate can be set to coincide with peaks of the lighting schedule so more flow is available when the corals are fully expanded and metabolic rates are at their highest.

Feed mode can be added into this daily schedule, pausing circulation at set times for feeding fish, off periods can also be incorporated so that all pumps are not running constantly or all at the same time. This can allow for even more complex flow pattens in an aquarium where a number of pumps are used.
