I read in an article a few years ago that the grain size of Rowaphos had changed however the product that I am now buying seems to be the same and work as well as it always has done. Can you please clarify for me.Thanks Jim
In 2014 we trialled a different blended grain size to allow people to visually differentiate the genuine Rowa product with copy or "me too" products.
Some companies in the past have claimed that their products were made in the same factory. As Rowa do not supply virgin product to any other aquatic company then this could not be the case.
Having tested the competitors products in the lab, we found that they contained high levels of Arsenic and already bound Phosphate but shared a similar molecular fingerprint.
The conclusion that we can draw from this is that the product was non-virgin and had already been used in the water treatment industry to remove arsenic from mains water and that it was therefore a waste product with a much reduced capacity.
In the end people said that they preferred the original grain size and so we reverted back to the standard version in about 2015/16.
I hope this answers your question.
