Question:

Will my dosing pump connect to my router, I keep reading about 2.4ghz and 5ghz and I don’t know what I have?

Answer:

Most home routers broadcast both 2.4ghz and 5ghz.

The 5ghz band is quicker for transmitting data but it has a very limited range, the 2.4ghz is more stable for situations where you are not close to the router or where the signal has to pass through walls etc. As a result, a lot of Wi-Fi devices in the home will run on the 2.4ghz channel to try and ensure the best possible signal.

Some routers will show the two separate channels and you are free to select but most will run on a mixed band mode. With this the two channels will effectively be broadcast together, if this is the case you may have to go in to your routers settings and temporally change it to a single 2.4ghz channel whilst you connect the Wi-Fi device. Once this is done the router can usually be switched back on to mixed band mode.

To change the band mode settings on your router consult the instruction manual for your router or speak to your internet providers customer service.
