Xwave Wavemaker

Xwave - An Extra-Ordinary Wave-maker.

Variable flow between 5000 and 13000 lts/hr

The new Xwave is a high Quality, high performance wavemaker for the marine or reef aquarium producing high water flow with a low energy cost.

The Xwave pump is the ideal tool for moving high volumes of water at a low running cost within your marine aquarium. Like all stream type pumps the Xwave produces a wide, high volume area of laminar, low pressure waterflow which is gentle on coral tissue compared with the narrow directed jet which is obtained using a high pressure pump nozzle.

All Xwave pumps are controllable and come with a remote power supply which offers 5 selectable speeds as standard. When used with the multi-controller the options are even greater with a choice of funtions to tailor the pump output to your specific requirements.

Pulse mode - Interval mode - Random mode - Cycle mode - Food time mode - Night mode.

See the controller page for more details

Flow rate: 3,000 to 13,000 l/h
Energy consumption: maximum 25 W
Input Voltage / frequency: 120V/60Hz (US)/ 220V/50Hz (EU)
Output Voltage: 12/24V DC

Features:

  • Advanced Pump Structure : a record for 13,000L/h at power consumption of 25 Watts.
  • Controllable speed : able to preform Wave Programme by Xwave Multicontroller or other manufacturer controller.
  • 3-D flow direction : with the special ball joint, that adjust the flow direction 3-dimensionally.
  • High performance, Energy Saving : Hydro impellers (Without Shaft) enhance the hydrodynamic performance with low power consumption.
  • Safety extra-low Voltage : 12/24V Wave Driver.

Reliability:

I have been running a pair of these pumps now on my own aquarium for over 10 months and have never cleaned them or touched them once as you can see by the third photo on the slideshow where it is covered in coralline algae and they have never missed a beat.

Hament at Tropicals and Marines has also been road testing a pump for the same length of time and has had the same experience.

Note:

The early prototypes made a small amount of noise for the first 3 weeks until they bedded in and built a biofilm between the impellor and the body and then they run silently. For this reason I added a comment to this effect on the box however the production units seem to be very quiet from the start.
