T5 lighting for a planted freshwater aquarium

Question:

Hi i have two tank one is 7x2x2coldwater other is 6x2x2 warmwater i want to have many plants low light plants like the elodea densa I just brought 4 80watt t5 lights and 4 t5 controller
Two 80watts lights on one and two on the other with refectors

Would this be fine or would i have to buy a twin t5 54watt lights with refector for both tanks to add more light.

Plants I am planing on keeping
Elodea densaEleocharis
viviparaMarsilea
quadrifolia
Vallisneria spirali
Any help would be good

2 x 80W will still give out quite a lot of light.
We are more specialised on the marine side and not really sure of the lighting requirements of the plants that you ask about.You may be better contacting a retailer who specialises in planted tanks.

To put it in perspective, you could probably keep corals under that much light as long as they were not too light demanding.
I think that you must try this on the tank and assess how much light you are getting and then make a decision from there as to whether to put all 4 on one tank or to have 4 and get another light for the second tank.
