Sound attenuation on new style MCE600

Hi I have recently purchased a Deltec MCE600 skimmer . I am pleased with the skimmer, however, it seems to be very noisy, Can you please provide me with a sound attenuation kit asap

If you have bought the skimer recently then it is likely to be already fitted with a sound attenuation kit. In fact it should have the new style of pump fitted where the shaft is fixed to the impellor and runs in ceramic bearings built into the rubber grommit.

I would suggest taking out the gromit from the end of the pump and smearing the outside in some vaseline then putting it back in. This will ensure that it is fitted centrally and fully home so that it will run smoother and cause less vibration which is seen as noise.

Make sure that the pump is pushed well forward into the suction pipe as this can vibrate too then push the plate hard behind the pump. This will hopefully sort out the noise.

If when you take the pump to bits it has black bearings in the end then it is an old model and you do need a dampening kit
