RO flow restrictor tap position

Question:

Hi,

I have purchased a RO 50 unit... I need to just find out that when the external flow restrictor is turn to 90degrees so it is making good water, the water seems to still flow quite fast out of the end, and i got told that the water would just drip out??

I only brought this today so its brand new, everything has been installed properly, it is connected to an outside tap i just wanted to know if this is normal for the water to flow out fairly fast even when the flow restrictor is turned 90degrees, when i open up the restrictor is flows out very fast which is normal, its just when i shut it off it still seems to slow out at a nice speed, is that normal?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards

Lee

Answer:

When the black tap is inline with the flow restrictor, (fitted to the orange pipe) the water is full flow as there is no restrictor present.
When it at 90 degrees to the flow then there is a restriction inline which still passes water through but causes a back pressure to force water through the membrane. The water will drip out of the other, (blue) pipe.

All is normal

I will get Tony to take some pictures of this and add to our FAQ section

Cheers
Stuart
