Pipe sizes for HLP 5250
Question:
Hi,
Just a quick question regarding HLP5250 pumps, do these pumps accept 40mm pipe
on their inlets. I know the info sheets say 32mm but the stubby pieces of pipe
that come connected to the pump has an outside diameter of 40mm and I am a
little confused as to what size tank connector I need to be specifying in my
sump build.

The pump comes with a 32mm threaded union fitting on the suction pipe for solvent weld attachment of the 32mm pipe however after this it is possible for you to step up to 40mm if you require.
You will need to fit a ball valve either side of the pump to allow removal and so you can fit a 40mm ball valve and a reducer to take the 32mm pipe at one end leaving a 40mm fitting at the other.
It is the inside diameter and outer diameter of the pipe that you measure.
