Hi there,
I have believe the 50 gallon RO unit and was looking to replace the membranes inside, how much are they please? also, the shut off valve that connects to the mains (the tiny screw tap) doesn't appear to shut the water off completey, which has led to some flooding (to the point the floor's been damaged and the wife wants rid of it!)
is there another tap that can be added to the line into the unit itself to
completely shut it off please?
thanks!
Kind Regards,
Michael
Hi Michael
The price of a 50 gall replacement membrane is £32.99(available from your D-D retailer). They are reasonably
easy to fit, unscrew the end cap from the membrane housing and with a pair
of long nose pliers give the old membrane a good tug and it should come out.
When fitting the new membrane ensure you fit it with the sealing ring at the
screw cap end.
The taps don't usually leak although if the self piercing end of the tap has
caused the hole in the pipe to misshape they might, this can happen if the
clamp has been moved slightly after initial installation.
You could purchase an inline RO ball valve tap that can be installed after
the mains tap,you can then turn the water off from here after turning off
the mains tap.Alternatively you could install two of these taps, one on the
product water pipe and one on the waste to keep the unit full of water when
not in use thus protecting the membrane from drying out.
