Hi,
I have a deltec MCE 600 which is noisy, i.e the pump noise is very load.
I run it in a sump and the only thing I can hear is the MCE 600 pump.
I have checked and this has the silencingclick installed (red washers and
rubber fins).
I have tried turning on and off as in the manual but still it is noisy.
Is there anything else that can be done?
Regards Farsad
Hi Farsad
With regards to the noise it may be because the red grommets have shrunk
over time and are loose in the grommet housing, equally depending on how old
the skimmer is the impeller shaft may have some wear on it causing
vibration.
Also check that the little flap inside the pump is free.
I take it the pump is clean with no calcium build up in the venturi or pump
body and the air tap is free from debris?.
We offer an updated pump that includes ceramic bearings and a one piece
impeller if you wish to change out the pump due to wear.
You can order parts or a new pump by contacting neil@theaquariumsolution.com
Please pass on the correct pump details if you wish to order parts as there
are a couple of versions of the MCE600 pump, information for identification
