MC500 noise reduction

Question:

Hi, sorry to be a nuisance but I'm mailing you due to looking on the internet as to why my deltec mc 500 is noisy. After reading these posts it looks like I'm not the only one.

Can you tell me what I have to do to make it quite as I keep it off now because of the noise but that is leaving my system with no skimmer.

Hi Ken

You don't state if the MC500 is running the old style pump with black grommets or has the noise reduction kit fitted.

Please see the following links on noise reduction, the noise reduction kit and maintaining the pump as a dirty or worn pump will cause noise.

Also check that the pump isn't vibrating against the skimmer body and that any of the sliding plates are secured as if they are loose they can also vibrate.
