Question:

How do I stop my Clarisea SK5000 fleece forming a ridge in the centre of the dirty roll?

Answer:

Sometimes there can be a small amount of deflection or bend at the top of the filter plate. This can be caused by the dirty roll pulling on the guide plate or from the nuts, holding the body together, being screwed up too tight. As the fleece passes over this it can bunch very slightly in the middle. This ridge can then become exaggerated as the dirty roll winds up further creating more pressure on the guide plate.

To correct this deflection a spacer tube can be fitted over the top threaded rod on the dirty roll side. This will prevent the nuts from over-tightening, deforming the guide plate, and will support the filter plate from behind to remove any slight bow that may already have developed.
