Answer:

Paul,

You can calibrate the cooler with (i think) by about 1.5 degrees either way.

To calibrate hold both the up and down temperature buttons for 3 seconds.

It should come up with 00.

Then adjust as required to recalibrate the cooler.

It would be far better if you bypassed the cooler controller and ran it from the GHL instead.  When you try to run a cooler separate to a control computer you can end up with a conflict between the temperature sensor on the cooler and the one on the GHL.  Set the cooler to far lower than required and run it from the GHL.  I run both my heating and cooling from my IKS and the heater and cooler both read from the same temperature probe.  This way i can fully set them up without any conflicts between them.

For info if the cooler is away from the aquarium then you may/will get a different reading from the temp probe directly in the system.  Please consider this as well.

I would recommend that the temp probe is located near the cooler return.  If it is up the other end of the sump you may get a different reading again.  Just a thought but worth checking out.  Also how confident are you in the GHL probe and have you double checked it out?

Hope that helps.
