Cleaning of HLP Pumps

Never dismantle the pump to clean it as certain parts require special tools for correct alignment.

Generally the HLP Pumps do not need a lot of maintenance however we recommend that you remove the pump and clean it every 3 months. This will remove any snails and debris and will normally increase the performance of the pump.

Within a saltwater aquarium, calcium build up on the impellor will also requirer removal.

To clean the pump simply block the suction pipe with the cap that is supplied and fill the pump with Ezyclean solution or with kettle descaler. This should then be left for a couple of hours to dissolve any calcium deposits or snail shells.

Rinse the pump out thoroughly and refit into the system.
