Booster pumps for RO water

Question:

Could you please confirm the following:

What is the physical size of the D-D Booster Pump for R/O Unit?

What is the voltage requirement for the D-D Booster Pump for R/O Unit?

Can the R/O unit be switched of without fear of the membrane drying out?

David

Answer:

David

The pumps are low voltage and come with a transformer.

Dimensionally they are about 200 mm x 130mm x 120mm high and take 1/4 RO hose

I have just fitted one to my system as the cold water was causing a reduction in water and I do 600 lt water changes.

It probably doubled the amount of water that I get out.

I couple my booster pump to my float switch so that they turn on together however for normal top up I often unplug it and only use it when I want to make a lot of water.

You should never let the membrane dry out and keep the RO full of water. Ideally you should use the RO unit at least once per week to prevent bacteria from growing and damaging the membrane.

Hope this helps

Stuart
